Everytime I visit a website, or get my hands on a book I want to read, I always read the author's profile for the reason I want to know something about the author which can, in some way, motivate me. If, for example, an author of a book or any writing has had struggles with his education, perhaps because of financial unblessedness, in his early life but overcame it through determination and hard work and ended up a well-educated man/woman, at least three lessons can be learned and emulated. First, if someone who was born and raised in poverty overcame adversities and grew up a successful, educated man, it only shows that poverty is not a hindrance to getting an education. Of course, no one can deny that it is an obstacle that needs to be overcome but it is not an excuse for not getting an education. Another lesson is that our end is not always that determined by our beginning. As the poor became successful, it also implies that the rich can end up with the poor man's beginning due to uncertainties in life. If a poor man ended up rich, so also the rich can end up being poor. The final lesson would be a practical one. I would begin to think to myself that if one who was stricken with poverty ended up having an education and becoming successful, surely I, who is more financially blessed than they, though not rich, can also succeed in life, if I work as hard as they did. That is the beauty of reading biographies. You get valuable lessons from the lives of people. Now, the reason that I added this section in my webpage is that in my smallest way, I can do service to the readers through sharing a little part about my life, from which they can take lessons. What I would share is not about success in my life, but rather, failures which I want the readers to be spared from. I'm sure you can get lessons from my life. We all learn something from people, things, and events around us. Sometimes unknowingly. If I would tell you that you can get lessons from a deranged man, you might probably get suprised and ask,"What can I possibly learn from a man who talks to himself as though he's talking to someone else?". Well, the simple answer to that is that you'll learn that it's not good to be deranged. Simple as that. There's nothing new under the sun. What has happened in the past is still happening to us everyday. As one speaker said, "New news is old news happening to new people." If that be true, we might as well learn all that we can from other people's lives.
I'll be focusing on my failure in my studies. This will greatly benefit students. Enjoy reading.
